LUCKNOW: The Military authorities of Lucknow station today reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring a safe and secure working environment for women, free from sexual harassment. The awareness program was conducted under the enterprising initiative of AMC Centre & College at Surya Auditorium in Lucknow Cantonment at the evening of 26 June 2025. This reaffirmation followed a role-play by the cadets of the College of Nursing, Command Hospital, Central Command, Lucknow and an educative lecture delivered by Brigadier RN Verma and Col JK Sharma on the salient features of the Prevention of Sexual Harassment Act.
Brigadier S Prabhu, Deputy Judge Advocate General, Central Command, addressed queries from the audience regarding its implications in the Armed Forces. Women’s dignity at the workplace is of paramount importance. The Indian Army is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for women and encourages proactive measures to prevent sexual harassment, ensuring that complaints are addressed promptly and fairly. In view of the induction of lady Agniveer and women populated working environment like hospitals, AMC Centre & College is actively working to raise awareness about sexual harassment and promote a culture of respect and zero tolerance for any offense against women.

Lieutenant General Shivinder Singh, AVSM, Commandant AMC Centre & College and other senior officers graced the occasion. The event was attended by a total strength of 450, including officers, Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs), Other Ranks (ORs) and defence civilians.
